  1. Why not just contact the authors of the paper?

  2. Copper nitrate and salt will create a dark(er) surface.

  3. Hello, I would try conc. solution of soduim chlorate. I dont have ultrasonic cleaner, but still it has made the aluminium turn black. It might contain some sodium chloride, because of impurities.

  4. I don't have a lab at my disposal so I'm not sure about the chemical mixtures measurements without actually experimenting. I would first suggest that you make sure that you soak your foil in salt. Your target goal is to bind the salt at a molecular level to the foil before hitting it with a sonic emitter of some sort. You need to work every element of this project under 20um or you won't have the photonic results necessary to bend natural law. I would first use the most ancient method of alchemical solvent/binder mercury. Your admixture will consult of a neutralizer (might try sterile sodium chloride or medical water as a dilute) bind the salt to the aluminum using the mercury mix. Then hit it with your ultrasonic soundwaves to get the nanoscopic meta structures you need. If you really wanna get fancy I've got a lot of stuff to work with at 10um that will actually force photonic bending. I even have a solution to make it a viable material for use by utilizing a nano translucent meta "epoxy" in theory will protect the delicate nano carbon tubes while providing a portable, useable version of the meta structure; unlike anything available utilising current existing technology. If you're interested in collaborating, reach out to me.

  6. Hi Ben, nice video. with the quartz furnace and all your flow controls, are you going to do a CVD diamond? IT would be quite a project...... anyway, can't wait for your next project!

  7. Thanks for your research. Given all of the paper's filler, I'm led to believe that perhaps many of these studies that come out of these Universities and big companies probably purposefully add lots of unimportant and unnecessary process in order to make repeating the process needlessly difficult for the average person.

Capitalism acting communistic, so to speak. I'd say "gotta love it", but. No, we don't.

  8. Hey I was trying to find the video you refer to in your electron microscope video. You mentioned that in a prior video to that you showed how you were able to pull carbon nanotubes into a fiber from what looked like some sort of block of the material. I've looked all over your channel and I don't know if it's just me but I can't seem to find it at all. How were you able to manage it? Thanks

  9. Can you show us how to grow carbon nanotubes?
