    Strange thing trying to comment from an iPad!
    The above link was to a topic I hope you'll consider for a blog topic.
    Photo stimulable phosphors - a technique for visualizing x-Ray images that have been formed on phosphorus plates, to be "developed" using a HeNe laser scanner and PMT pickup. Reminds me a bit of your SEM project.
